Impetus is leading and engaging in a national conversation about how we can build core resilience within communities, public services and the wider economy to withstand external shocks like this, so that all young people get the right support to succeed.
The Youth Employment Group
The impact of Covid-19 is being felt heavily across the youth and employment sectors, and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds are disproportionately affected.
In response to the crisis, Impetus, Youth Futures Foundation, Youth Employment UK, the Institute for Employment Studies and The Prince’s Trust, jointly established the Youth Employment Group to bring together key leaders within and around the youth employment sector.
The group provides the opportunity to work collaboratively together, and with government and policy makers, to ensure that young people – especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds – are best supported during Covid-19 and its aftermath.
Impetus is chairing the group and, with the other founding organisations, acting as secretariat.

The Housing and Employment Taskforce
Impetus is also a member of the Housing and Employment Taskforce convened by Communities that Work. The taskforce includes leaders from across the housing and employment sectors and the Department for Work and Pensions, who are sharing expertise, resources and insight to inform the response to Covid-19. Impetus represents the voice of youth employment within the group.
